Introduction
Once logged in the fleet account, 2 (two) tabs are automatically visible to the user. Such tabs cannot be closed; these are the Live Tracking and Dashboard tabs.
The Live Tracking tab is the landing screen where the user ends once he logs into his/her Fleet account. It provides the user with an in-depth overview of his/her fleet assets vital readings and performance.
The Live Tracking tab is divided into 4 (four) main areas: The assets list (marked black), the asset panel (marked red), the map window (marked blue) and the map buttons (marked orange).
The Assets List
The Assets List is found on the left hand side of the screen. The list includes all the vehicles a user can view and/or monitor.
The user can navigate between vehicles by simply clicking on the desired vehicle. On clicking on different vehicles, the map view will change to allocate the selected vehicle.
The assets list is equipped with a search bar, and 4 (four) buttons; Filter Assets, Show All, Show/Hide Detail and Expand/Collapse Groups buttons.
Search Bar: The user can search for a certain vehicle by typing in its full name or just a part of it, followed by pressing the Enter key on the keyboard, or clicking the Filter Assets button next to the search bar.
Filter Assets button: An equivalent to the Enter key. It is used to run the filter command based on the information entered in the search bar.
Show All button: Removes all filters to show all the assets listed in the assets list.
Show/Hide Detail button: Shows or hides the serial number of the installed unit in all vehicles listed in the assets list.
Expand/Collapse Groups button: Expands or collapses all groups of assets enlisted in the assets list for easier access of particular group(s).
Vehicle Properties
A right click on a selected vehicle will display a side menu with the following 4 (four) options: Modify Asset Details, Lock Map On Asset, Show Trail On Map, and Copy Serial Number.
Modify Asset Details
Once the Modify Asset Details option is selected from the side menu, a Vehicle tab will open. The tab contains multiple editable fields where the user can add/edit information about the vehicle.
The vehicle tab has 8 (eight) sections; Details, Fuel, Mileage, Other, Device, Description, Documents, and Mileage Calibration, and 4 (four) buttons; Refresh, New, Edit, and Save.
Details
Name: Vehicle name as assigned by the user. The vehicle name is the installed device serial number by default. It is recommended to change the name to the vehicle number plate for ease of vehicle identification.
Subtitle: The subtitle is a short note assigned by the user. The vehicle subtitle is the installed device serial number by default. The subtitle will be displayed under the Device tab of the asset panel.
Type: The vehicle type as assigned by the user (e.g. bys, car, motorbike, van, etc.). The user can add as many vehicle types as deemed necessary and choose the appropriate type for each vehicle.
Make: Vehicle brand.
Model: Vehicle model.
Manufacture Year: Vehicle year of manufacture.
Passengers: Vehicle capacity in terms of number of passengers.
Default Driver Assigned: The default driver to whom the vehicle is assigned.
Fuel
Fuel Type: The type of fuel used by the vehicle. The user can choose the appropriate type from the drop down menu.
Bio-Diesel: Diesel fuel drive from biological ( animal and plant) fats.
Diesel: Petroleum diesel fuel used in diesel engines.
Electric: For electric motor- propelled cars using rechargeable batteries.
Hybrid: For vehicles combining the internal combustion engine with electric propulsion systems.
LRP: Lead Replacement Petrol, for vehicles designed to run on leaded vehicles and incompatible with unleaded fuels.
Unleaded: Gasoline with 95 RON (research octane number) and above.
Fuel Capacity (Ltrs): Fuel tank capacity in litres as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer.
Estimated KM/Ltr: Estimated fuel consumption in kilometres per litre as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer.
Mileage
The Mileage section is a static section, it views data based on the information provided in the Mileage Calibration section.
Mileage Readings: Mileage recording method, this is GPS calculated by default as redeemed from the installed device GPS.
Last Calibration Date: Latest date when mileage calibration was performed.
Estimated Mileage (Km): Vehicle mileage reading in kilometres.
Estimated Mileage (Miles): Vehicle mileage reading in miles.
Other
The Other section includes more technical information about the vehicle.
Chassis No.: Vehicle chassis number.
Tyre Size Front: Size of the vehicle front tyres in inches.
Tyre Size Rear: Size of the vehicle rear tyres in inches.
Last Maintenance at: Date of last maintenance carried on the vehicle.
Device
The Device section is a static section, it views data about the installed device as redeemed from HandsOn Systems database. The Device section shows the following data:
Serial Number: The installed device serial number.
Device Type: The installed device manufacturer and model.
Network: The mobile network to which the SIM card installed in the device belongs to.
Install Date: The date of the device installation in the vehicle.
Description
The Description text box allows the user to add text notes regarding the selected vehicle.
Documents
In the Documents section, the user can upload scanned documents related to the vehicle (e.g. Insurance policy, logbook, etc.).
The uploaded documents can be later viewed from the Documents tab in the asset panel.
Adding a New Document
To add a new document:
Left click to select the desired asset.
Right click on the selected asset to open the side menu.
From the side menu choose Modify Asset Details.
In the Documents section, click the Add New Document icon (+).
On clicking Add New Document, the Vehicle Documents dialog box will appear.
In the Vehicle Documents dialog box, click Select a File to browse the file location.
Add the document name in the Name field.
Click Save to start uploading the document and close the Vehicle Documents dialog box.
Refresh the page and check for the uploaded document in the Docs tab of thee Asset Panel.
Removing an Uploaded Document
To remove an uploaded document:
Left click to select the desired asset.
Right click on the selected asset to open the side menu.
From the side menu choose Modify Asset Details.
Click Edit, to start modifying the asset details.
Click Delete File under the Documents section.
Click Yes to confirm the file deletion.
Click OK to close the confirmation message box.
Mileage Calibration
The Mileage Calibration section allows the user to manually calibrate the mileage reading of the vehicle for future use in Fleet Reports. The Mile Calibration section section contains the following editable information:
Reading Date: To enter the latest mileage calibration date.
Reading Time: To enter the latest mileage calibration time.
Reading Type: To choose the readings units, the user can choose between kilometres and miles.
Mileage: To record the vehicle current mileage as obtained from the vehicle odometer.
Vehicle Tab Buttons
The vehicle tab has 4 (four) buttons at the bottom to assist in modifying the asset details. These are:
Refresh: To refresh the asset details page in case of loading errors.
New: To add new vehicles asset details page.
Edit: To edit the asset details for the selected vehicle.
Save: To keep the changes for the modified asset details.
Modifying an Asset Details
To modify an asset details:
Left click to select the desired asset.
Right click on the selected asset to open the side menu.
From the side menu choose Modify Asset Details.
Click Edit, to start modifying the asset details.
Click Save to keep the modified changes.
Lock Map On Asset
The Lock Map On Asset option allows the user to lock the map on a particular asset/ vehicle. The map view will be updated automatically based on the live update of the asset location.
Only one asset can be locked at a time. The locked asset will have a closed padlock next to its name.
Upon locking the map on a new asset, the previously locked asset will be unlocked automatically.
Locking the Map on an Asset
To lock the map on an asset:
Left click to select the desired asset.
Right click on the selected asset to open the side menu.
From the side menu choose Lock Map On Asset.
Show Trail on Map
The Show Trail on Map option allows the user to show the whole journey trail carried by the vehicle for either the same day (Today) or the previous one (Yesterday).
A whole day journey trail report will be generated together with an animated visual display of the trail.
The journey can be played by clicking the Play button once the trail is shown on the map, the speed of the animation can be adjusted using the Fast and Slow buttons. The animation can also be paused by clicking the Pause button.
The map style can be changed to Google, Satellite or Greyscale by choosing the desired style from the Map drop-down menu.
The map can be zoomed in by clicking the Zoom in button or using the mouse wheel.
Full screen view can be obtained by clicking the Toggle Fullscreen View button. To exit the fullscreen view, press the Escape (Esc) button.
Street view can be obtained by dragging the Pegman onto the map.
Showing the Trail on Map
To show the trail on map on an asset:
Left click to select the desired asset.
Right click on the selected asset to open the side menu.
From the side menu hover on Show Trail on Map.
From the Show Trail on Map side menu, choose either Today or Yesterday to show the vehicle trail for the current or previous day respectively.
Copy Serial Number
The Copy Serial Number option allows the user to copy the serial number of the installed device(s) to his/her clipboard to paste it later when needed.
Copying the Serial Number
To copy the serial number of an asset:
Left click to select the desired asset.
Right click on the selected asset to open the side menu.
From the side menu hover on Copy Serial Number.
The Asset Panel
The Asset Panel is located at the bottom of the page. To Show/Hide the asset panel, click on the Show/Hide button at the far top-right end of the panel.
The Asset Panel provides the user with a quick overview of the performance of the installed unit, as well as a summary of the vehicle details.
The Asset Panel comes originally with 3 (three) tabs; Details, Device, and Docs tabs. Other tabs (e.g. Temperature, Remote Control, Fuel Analysis, Service, etc.) are automatically added to the Asset Panel based on the different trackers and modules installed in the vehicle.
Detail Tab
The Detail tab allows the user to view live updates about the vehicle status and position. The updates are obtained directly from the tracking unit installed in the vehicle, and include the following information:
Status: The tracking unit status, which is either online or offline, based on the unit’s GPS signal reception.
Asset Name: User provided name of the installed asset.
Group Name: User created group, under which the vehicle is enlisted.
Subtitle: 50-character long line for side notes.
Address: Latest GPS generated address as detected by the installed unit.
Last Movement: Timestamp of the latest vehicle movement detected by the installed unit.
Last Position: The longitude and latitude of the last detected address.
Status/Speed: Vehicle status whether stopped or in motion. Whilst stopped, the vehicle status will show the duration of the stoppage time, or the speed when the vehicle is in motion.
Inputs: The trackers inputs depending on the installed modules in the vehicle. The trackers are always ignition (IGN) and engine (EGN) by default, other trackers inputs are automatically added based on the different modules installed in the vehicle. The said inputs are greyed out when inactive or while the unit is offline and navy blue when the unit is online or the tracker is activated.
Device Tab
The Device tab provides the user with a quick overview of the installed unit. The displayed information include:
Group: User created group, under which the vehicle with the installed unit is enlisted. This is the same as the Group Name field in the Detail tab.
Subtitle: 50-character long line for side notes. This is the same as the Subtitle field in the Detail tab.
Device Type: The installed device manufacturer and model.
Serial No: The installed device serial number.
Network: The mobile network to which the SIM card installed in the tracking unit belongs to.
Sim Card/Mobile No: The ICC and MSISDN numbers of the installed SIM card.
Date of Installation: Date of device installation in the vehicle.
Voltage: Car battery voltage as detected by the installed device.
App Version: The All-In-One (AIO) version of particular units (e.g. Logic IO).
The Device tab includes an analogue gauge displaying the car battery voltage as detected by the installed unit.
Docs Tab
The Docs tab allows the user to view the previously uploaded documents from the Vehicle tab accessed by clicking Modify Asset Details.
The Map Window
The map style can be changed to Google, Satellite or Greyscale by choosing the desired style from the Map drop-down menu. Places annotations can be viewed/removed by checking/unchecking the Labels checkbox in the satellite view only.
The map can be zoomed in by clicking the Zoom in button or by rotating the mouse wheel in a forward direction, on the other hand, it can be zoomed out similarly, either by clicking the Zoom out button or rotating the mouse wheel in a backward direction.
Full screen view can be obtained by clicking the Toggle Fullscreen View button. To exit the full screen view, press the Escape (Esc) button.
A Search Bar at the lower left corner of the map is used to search for landmarks and addresses for faster navigation.
Street view can be obtained by dragging the Pegman onto the map.
The Map Buttons
A column of 11 (eleven) map buttons is located on the right hand side of the map field. Arranged from above downwards, these are:
Go to Home Location button
Draw the map to the user's defined home location.
Set Home Location button
Set/Change the user’s defined home location. To set/change home location:
- Type the desired address in the Google Map search bar.
- Click Search.
- When directed to the new address, click the Set Home Location button.
Enable the HandsOn Control button
- Click the HandsOn Control button.
- Move the marker on the map to the desired location.
- A HandsOn Systems Control window will appear, showing the location address, coordinates, closest waypoint, closest asset(s), and last visit.
Set a Waypoint button
Create a new waypoint, or Point of Interest (POI). To create a new waypoint.
- Click on the Set a Waypoint button, an Add a New Waypoint dialog box will appear.
- Move the marker on the map to locate the new waypoint or point of interest.
- Drag the double headed side arrow (⬌) to increase or decrease the available parking bay or un/loading area around the new waypoint.
- In the Add a New Waypoint dialog box, the following information are available:
- Waypoint Name: Choose a name for the new waypoint (mandatory).
- Category: Choose a category from the drop down menu (mandatory).
- Code: Create a code for the new waypoint (optional).
- Distance Meters: The waypoint size in metres. This is automatically adjusted while marking the parking bay or the un/loading area around the waypoint.
- Description: Enter a description of the waypoint (optional).
Enable/Disable Traffic button
Show/Hide traffic information updates on the map. Traffic updates are available only in mainland Europe.
Enable/Disable Audio button
Mute/Unmute the SOS Alert sound.
Enable/Disable Weather Information button
Show/Hide weather condition symbols on the map.
Hide/Show Assets button
Show/Hide all assets on the map.
Hide/Show Asset Label button
Show/Hide the asset/vehicle name on the map.
Hide/Show Asset Direction button
Show/Hide the direction of asset/vehicle movement on the map.
Hide/Show Asset Clustering button
Asset clustering groups assets sharing a nearby location into colour-coded globes with the number of assets in the centre, rather than having the assets scattered all over the map.
