Zone Alerts warn the user once a vehicle enters or exits a user-defined zone.

Adding a new Zone Alert

A new Zone Alert rule can be created through the following steps:

1. Go to Alerts → Zone Alerts

2. Click on Add Rule.

3. The following customisable parameters are available in the New Zone Alert Rule window:

  • Asset: Select the required assets from those available at the user’s account.

  • Zone: Select one of the user-defined zones from the drop-down menu. The drop-down menu will display all the waypoints created by the user.

  • Position: Select between IN and OUT from the drop-down menu, to trigger the alert once the vehicle enters (IN) or exits (OUT) the zone selected in the Zone drop-down menu.

  • Email Alert: Select between Enable and Disable from the drop-down menu, to either enable or disable receiving alerts via email.

  • Mobile Alert: Select between Enable and Disable from the drop-down menu, to either enable or disable receiving alerts via SMS.

  • Notify Me: Select between Everyday (Receive alerts at any day of the week), Weekdays (Receive alerts on Saturday and Sunday Only), Weekends (Receive alerts from Monday to Friday only) and Custom Days (Choose particular days of the week to receive alerts).

  • Start Date: Set up a date to start receiving alerts, once the event takes place. It is important to keep in mind that if the start date is set to a future date, no alerts will be received until that date.

  • Start Time: Set up a time to start sending alerts, once the event takes place. It is important to keep in mind that if the start date is set to a future date, no alerts will be received until that date.

  • Never Ends: Tick the checkbox to create a recurring alert. In such a case, the user(s) will continue receiving alerts until the alert rule is edited and the checkbox is unticked. Once Never Ends is selected, End Date will no longer be available as a parameter.

  • End Date: Set up a date to stop receiving alerts.

  • End Time: Set up a time to stop sending alerts. It is important to keep in mind that if an event takes place after the set end time, no alerts will be received.

  • Notifications Limit: Tick the checkbox to set a limit for the number of notifications received. Once the pre-set limit is reached, no more alerts will be received. When checked, Times to Notify and Reset Frequency will be available.

    • Times to Notify: Sets the number of notifications to be received during the selected time frame from the Reset Frequency drop-down menu. Once the number of notifications is reached, no more notifications will be received until the time window from the Reset Frequency is elapsed.

    • Reset Frequency: Sets the time frame before resetting the notifications counter. This can be either DailyWeeklyMonthly, or Yearly.

4. Add recipients to the desired alert mode, by clicking the (+) sign next to the desired recipient(s) names(s) from the desired box(es).

Note: User(s) already included in the Fleet account will be automatically available in the Emails and Mobiles boxes, and ready to be added as alerts notifications recipients. However, non-Fleet users can also be added as recipients by entering their email and/or mobile number manually after clicking the Add Custom Email and/or Add Custom Mobile buttons respectively.

All users available in either the Emails and Mobiles boxes can be added all at once by clicking the Add All button.

5. Click Save.
